Bio:
Tucked into the wild, rolling landscapes of Kenya’s Lolldaiga Hills Conservancy, Moon’s Camp is an intimate, off-grid safari camp with a refreshingly relaxed and personal feel. Set within a private conservancy north of Mount Kenya, this is the kind of place where game drives feel like true wilderness adventures and stories are shared beside the fire with uninterrupted views of the African bush.
The camp itself is small and unpretentious, with just five classic canvas safari tents furnished for comfort and simplicity. Each has en-suite bathrooms with hot bucket showers, cosy beds, and private verandas overlooking the plains. The communal lounge and dining tent is the heart of camp life - a laid-back space for swapping stories, enjoying hearty home-cooked meals, and watching the sky turn crimson at dusk.
One of the many aspects that makes a visit to Moon’s Camp so special is its exclusive access to the Lolldaiga Hills, a pristine, wildlife-rich conservancy that sees far fewer visitors than Kenya’s better-known reserves.
Game drives here reveal healthy populations of lion, elephant, buffalo, wild dog, and a variety of plains game. What we really enjoy about this area lies outside of the safari vehicle as their is a whole array of other activities to enjoy, including walking safaris, longer hikes, fly-camping, community visits, specific conservation activities, visits to ancient rock art. Should you wish you can even drive the lodge's pride and joy their lovingly restored Series I and II Land Rovers.
Proudly owner-run by safari aficionados Ed and Moon Hough, along with their young family by staying here you will notice the difference that comes with staying in a camp run by the care and attention as if it was their own home.
It’s an ideal choice for those seeking a classic, unfussy East African safari with a focus on great guiding, genuine hospitality, and the freedom for meaningful exploration at your own pace.
