The newest addition to El Karama Lodge in Kenya's rugged and beautiful Laikipia region is the exclusive-use two-bedroom Nilotica Private. Complete with its own communal lounge, sprawling breakfast deck, private pool and fire pit it is the perfect space for families or a group of friends.

El Karama Lodge is an owner-operated, award-winning lodge and safari adventure experience located on a private wildlife conservancy in the foothills of Mount Kenya, it works especially well for families and those looking for a range of activities, beyond the standard safari game drives.

Nilotica Private is just as the name suggests, a completely private experience. A stay here comes with its own private vehicle and guide as well as a food and beverage team to look after your every need. There are two separate cottages sleeping up to eight people, which share a sprawling wooden breakfast deck on stilts overlooking the river and landscape beyond, as well as an eco-swimming pool, complete with Pool House and dining area, fireplace and a bar for cocktails and almost obligatory safari sundowners. The hidden fire pit is perfect for after drinks stories, drinks and stargazing.

Beyond the small fence surrounding the house there is an active salt lick and waterhole which attracts plentiful including elephant, zebra, bush buck and buffalo throughout the day and night.

On the vast 15,000ha El Karama Private Conservancy activities include guided walking, fly-camping, horse-riding, hand-line fishing for catfish, game drives, night drives, farm experiences, heli- safaris and conservation activities.
