Bio:

Opening at some point in 2026, Singita Elela Luxury Lodge is located in the 170,000 hectare Abu Concession (NG26) to the west of the Okavango Delta. Singita Elela adds to the Singita's portfolio of 19 outstanding lodges and camps across South Africa, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Set to be towards or on top of an already high-end pile of lodges in Botswana, Singita Elela is going to be one of the most hotly anticipated openings on the continent.

Elela means 'to flow' in the local Setswana language and we understand that the lodge and its experiences will echo the Okavango Delta's essence of a continual cycle - the annual process of filling and draining that epitomises this landscape.

The Abu Concession is a beautiful, varied reserve and at 170,000ha it is one of the largest, sandwiched between the prolific Jao Concession to the north and then the Pom Pom Concession and Moremi Game Reserve to the east. It is typically a concession that changes throughout the year with the inundation of the Okavango Delta's annual flood and while Singita are yet to announce the activities offered by the camp, we expect water activities, such as boat safaris and mokoro trips, to be available between May and October each year. Throughout the year game drives and walking safaris are likely to be possible and as it is a private concession it is possible to go off-road and explore at night.

Singita is a leading conservation and ecotourism brand which has been working to preserve Africa's wildlife and wilderness areas for the past 30 years. Each of Singita's lodges are located in private reserves and in partnership with not-for-profit funds and trusts in each area they implement strategic conservation and community projects. Singita’s 100-year purpose is to preserve and protect large parts of African wilderness for future generations.
