Bio:

The 44,000 hectare Suyian Conservancy in central Kenya will welcome a new luxury safari camp in July 2025 - Suyian Lodge. The name Suyian comes from the name for the African wild dog in the local Maa language. Previously home largely to just cattle this is a transforming and evolving landscape providing an opportunity for conservation and community development.

Forming an important wildlife corridor between southeast and northwest Laikipia Conservancies, with the Ewaso Narok River on its eastern boundary and Mount Kenya as its backdrop, it harbours one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in the Laikipia ecosystem.

The diverse landscape is home to northern Kenya oddities such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and desert warthog, as well as rarities like the elusive black leopard and the conservancy's namesake African wild dog.

Suyian Lodge is set to open in July 2025 operated by one of the top luxury safari operators in Africa, &Beyond. It is set to be a spectacular camp that uses clever architecture to blend into its rocky surrounds while providing the upmost luxury to its guests. Each of the 14 spacious suites will be extremely well-appointed complete with bath tubs, a private terrace and plunge pools.

In this vast, private conservancy there is a host of activities on offer including day and night game drives, walking safaris, camel and horseback safaris, active ranching tours, and fishing. Experience local culture through village visits or enjoy yoga, scenic helicopter flights, wellness treatments, and riverside picnics.
