Bio:
Leading Hwange National Park operator Imvelo Safari Lodges are opening their newest safari camp at the end of the 2025, with the intention it is then up and running by the start of the 2026 season. Named after a nearby pan (watering hole) first known by the San people, it is set to be a exciting new accommodation option for Zimbabwe's largest national park.
Based in a remote corner of south-eastern Hwange, Tum Tum is situated in a beautiful teak and camelthorn woodland and will consist of a total of just five luxury safari tents. We are really excited to see the tree-top tents, of which there will be four, built on wooden platforms, each perched 12-16ft from the ground.
We will add further details to this as the camp takes shape, but we understand, each treehouse will be around 50 metres apart to ensure privacy, as well as sweeping views of the bush and its wildlife. They will be built in a typical luxury safari tented style with wood and canvas sides and en-suite bathrooms. Treehouse specialists 'Nelson Treehouses' have been engaged to work on the project, so we are sure it is going to a striking new camp, built with sensitivity to the local environment and of course the all-important mature trees.
There will also be a seperate main area, including a dining area and lounge for guests to watch wildlife and elephants walk underneath. A family tent will be sitauted a ground level, which will sleep 4-6 guests.
