Bio:

Tucked away in the rugged landscapes just outside Sesriem in southwestern Namibia, Desert Hills Glamping Camp offers a refreshing, down-to-earth way to experience the Namib Desert without sacrificing comfort. It’s a laid-back, welcoming spot where canvas walls meet crisp linens, and desert nights are spent marvelling at a barely believable night sky.

The lodge is located around 30 minutes from the entrance to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Whether you decide to drive yourselves into the park to see Sossusvlei and Deadvlei or take a guided trip with the lodge it is easy to get to the gate early enough to be one of the first into the park.

In our experience while it is easy to explore the dunes and the salt pans independently you do gain a lot more from visiting with guide, as well as normally a wonderful coffee and cakes in a scenic, shady spot.

The camp’s twelve spacious, en-suite tents are thoughtfully positioned to soak up views of the surrounding plains and distant Naukluft Mountains. You’ll find comfortable beds, hot showers, and private verandas - the perfect place to sip your morning coffee as the sun rises over the dunes. There’s a central lounge and dining area where guests gather for wholesome, home-cooked meals and sundowners around the firepit.

Desert Hills Glamping Camp is ideally located for easy access to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, and the famous towering dunes of the Namib. After a day exploring this surreal, ancient landscape, you’ll appreciate the camp’s quiet, unpretentious atmosphere and genuine hospitality. It’s an easy-going, well-run base for those looking to experience one of Namibia’s most iconic destinations in simple, scenic style. It combines particularly well with its sister camp in the Damaraland region - Ozondjou Trails Camp as featured in our 'Iconic Namibia self-drive safari circuit'.
