Bio:

The latest addition to the ever-popular Desert and Delta Safaris portfolio of lodges in Botswana, Sediba Sa Rona is a new luxury safari lodge set to open on the 16th of March in the Khwai Concession of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

Desert and Delta having partnered with the 100% citizen-owned Savanna Expeditions in a shared commitment to sustainable development as they reinvigorate an already established lodge, that was known as Khwai River Lodge.

Sediba Sa Rona means 'our source of water' and the lodge has been named in honour of the life-giving Khwai River which dominates the landscape in this concession on the eastern fringes of the Okavango Delta. Located at a confluence of ecosystems as the waterways of the Okavango Delta peter out, giving way to the expansive scrubland, grassland and woodlands of the Mababe Depression and southern realms of Chobe National Park. The permanent dry-land in this concession makes for a wonderfully productive wildlife viewing experience and while each month offers something different, we would recommend visiting at almost ay time of year.

The primary safari activity at Sediba Sa Rona is going to be exploring by game-drive vehicle, with Desert and Delta's expert guides. The lodge is perfectly located to explore both Khwai and the neighbouring  Moremi Game Reserve. Excursions on a traditional dug out canoe (mokoro) are also available on the Khwai river, as well as scenic helicopter flights.

We understand that in order to reduce the ecological impact the original footprint of Khwai River Lodge will remain the same and thus the total capacity of the lodge is 30 people in 15 rooms, including one two-bedroomed family tent.

The lodge would be perfect combined with one of the Desert and Delta's water-based camps such as Nxamaseri Island Lodge, Xugana Island Lodge or Camp Okavango, to give a complete experience of the different Delta environs.
