Nxamaseri Island Lodge is set within the permanent waterways of the Okavango Delta, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by a labyrinth of crystal-clear channels, lagoons, and lush vegetation, the lodge is accessible only by boat, ensuring a serene and secluded escape from the outside world.
Ownership has recently changed and one of the leading safari operators in Botswana have taken over Nxamaseri, with the change has come a refurbishment to the rooms and main areas along with a fresh look at the activities available.
The majority of activities revolve around the waterways that surround the lodge, exploring the papyrus-lined channels on motorboat safaris, mokoro trips (a type of traditional dugout canoe), seasonal fishing and nature walks on remote islands. The lodge is less about seeking out wildlife, but rather being immersed in the ebb and flow of the life-giving delta waterways.
Some very exciting news is that as of September 2024, the lodge is operating a sleep-out to experience the nearby Tsodilo Hills. Made up of four main hills these form the highest point in Botswana and renowned for its rich concentration of ancient rock art and its deep spiritual significance to local communities.
For stays of three nights or more the sleep-out will be complimentary for guests at Nxamaseri.
